Yes, I AM READY—as most all Outlander Fans of book or television show (or both!) may proclaim—for season three to begin! Based on the third book, Voyager, of Diana Gabaldon’s series, we are ready to grab our tweeds and travel back through time with Claire to find Jamie.
It’s been twenty years since Claire left Scotland to return to her present time of 1948, expecting Jamie’s child. Jamie intends that Claire and his child should be safe in the future with Frank Randall, as he stays behind to fight in the Battle of Culloden. He expects to die, but…
Everyone can guess that if there is a battle between the Scots and the British Army, that snake-in-the-grass, Black Jack Randall, will reappear on the moor. The television series may have a slightly different twist than the book, but it is sure to be thrilling and heart-breaking.
Speaking of snake in the grass... The end of season two left us with images of Claire sitting on the steps of Lallybroch, and flashbacks of Jamie, family, and friends. It is where we first meet Sawny, the small wooden snake carved for Jamie as a child by his older brother, William. Sawny also traveled with the Frasers to France, and perhaps he will reappear in season three.
Hopefully, we will see more characters from the first two seasons return to the screen, as well as Brianna, Jamie and Claire’s grown daughter, and her romantic link with Roger. I am SO Je Suis Prest!
