We would like to pay tribute to our good friend, Bill Woodrow. Here is how the Doctor Who fandom played out in his life...as told in his own words.

I have been watching Doctor Who since being in Nappies. My earliest memory is of ‘Time Monster’. I believe it may have been a repeat.

I was the Canberra, Australia rep. for the Doctor Who fan club and was lucky enough to go to the Sydney Doctor Who festival in November last year.

My Mum is a retired theatre director and my Gran was a dressmaker costume designer.

My DVD collection is complete as much as it can be

This pic is from a convention I helped run in the mid ‘80’s. That’s Katy Manning of course.

I also have a personalised Troughton autograph from pre-internet days. He will always be my fave Doctor. I loved him in ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ as well. He was such an accomplished character actor.

We miss him as well Ed. I can only image how excited he would have been over the release of our Red Velvet. He was always so pleasant and charming to speak with.

Thinking of Bill today. He was so passionate about his fandom in his teens. Organising conventions and meetings and, indeed, memorabilia collecting was such a different thing before the internet age.
