AbbyShot has taken the best features of Rick Deckard’s trench from the classic film about replicants and translated them into a beautiful and functional coat that can be worn every day. It has a buttoned front with a waist-belt, four big outside pockets, a button up collar, and a lightly quilted lining for those colder nights. When the weather isn't so chill, the lining can be zipped out to reveal a lighter inner lining. It is available to order right now in a full range of sizes.
Due to fan response we have released another version of the Deckard coat that is 100% screen-accurate but is not as much of an all-season garment as this version. We would like to clearly state the differences in the versions here to allow people to make an informed buying decision.
The Deckard Version 1 is first and foremost a wearable and practical coat. It is AbbyShot's first garment to be made from "Mercury Threads", which boasts an astonishing water-proof behavior. We've dropped, thrown, splashed and soaked this material in water and the liquid just runs off leaving NOTHING behind. If the fabric is flat, the water will bead up and look like mercury, literally rolling off the fabric like little metal ball bearings! All of these properties, and the material is still breathable and nice to the touch. Anyone who visited our AbbyShot booth at Dragon*Con 2006 can agree, this fabric is waterproof like nothing else.
It is very important to note that the Deckard Version 2 is NOT be made from this Mercury Threads fabric. Hardcore BR fans have told us that they want a version of the Deckard that will wrinkle easily and react to water more like the coat in the film, therefore a different fabric has been chosen for Version 2. The Deckard Version 2 has a slightly larger, more screen-accurate collar to more closely match that of the film. Minor issues with button-spacing and pocket stitch-lines are corrected as well to make the most screen-accurate version possible in the Version 2.
The bottom-line here is that the Deckard Version 1 is a beautiful Blade Runner-inspired coat that will last you through any season. It is completely waterproof with a quilted lining to keep you dry in the rain. When the sun comes out again, the fabric is breathable and the lining can be removed for an amazingly comfortable feel. But the greatest aspect is that it is a functional and durable coat with the look and feel of Deckard’s classic trench – a film-inspired idea that will bring some excitement to your everyday wear. Note: Sizes 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52 are temporarily unavailable.

It is beautiful! First impression is that it's a good fit, feels good to wear, and it looks good. Second impression is from my mom: "The color... it looks almost orange!" - I like the color though. Altogether it feels very detective-style-like, which I like. A good contrast to the coolness of the Stampede Duster, and to the formal
niceness of the Mobil Ave.
I reckon I'll be wearing it without the lining for now - what a stroke of genius to have it removable! - because it's uncommonly warm for the season here now, (December), which some find scary.
Anyway, thanks again a lot!

Dear Abbyshot,
I got my "Deckard V.1" trenchcoat today and I'm really happy with it. I enclose a quick pic of me wearing it. I can't wait for it to rain (in a Blade Runner-esque kind of way) so I can wear it outside. Right now its minus 32C. Anyhoo, thanks again. A big Thank you to Adam for his friendly and professional service.
Your pal, Dale R.

Hello All,
The coat came before Christmas and I wore it all day!! Everyone that sees it knows what movie it's from, which is cool because I live in a rural area of the US. I LOVE this coat... the mercury thread is awesome!! I will be ordering a Firefly/Mal coat in the spring... as soon as I find someone to help me with the pants, suspenders, gun and holster.
