The anime "Ghost In The Shell" was quite popular and spurred the creation of the series "Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex". In this series the character "Motoko Kusanagi" wears a variety of highly fashionable clothing, one of which is a stylish leather shrug with a high collar.
Our rendition of this item is made in leather and is very attractive to look at! Several AbbyShot staff members were dressed in prototype versions of this shrug at DragonCon 2006 and the public response was overwhelmingly positive! Despite the completed appearance of this sample garment, we are still in the development stages for this women's leather shrug. We're refining the look and fit of the pattern to make it as screen accurate as can be. Once completed and made available, we feel that this will become a highly sought after fashion accessory, suitable for a wide range of events. We invite your comments on this design as we would like to ensure that it is as completely screen-accurate as possible. Let us know what you think!

Successful Trade Mission Marks a New Step for AbbyShot
Early this month, AbbyShot jumped at the chance to visit the captivating country of Iceland. As part of a Canadian Trade Mission, AbbyShot met with many interesting businesses in the beautiful city of Reykjavik and received only rave reviews for our coats. Reykjavik is an exciting and fashionable city with a shopping district full of beautiful boutiques. A trendy nightlife awaited us as well - in our one night downtown we spotted Danny Masterson (Hyde from That 70’s Show) and had a quick chat with Eli Roth (director of Hostel and its upcoming sequel) who told us that his next movie is going to be "even sicker than the first!"
But the biggest and best news out of Iceland is this: AbbyShot will have jackets in a retail store for the first time ever! The beautiful ladies’ boutique called Spaksmannsspjarir will be the exclusive Icelandic retailer of our new Kill Bill Jacket! It’s a great first step in getting our garments out to more customers in more places around the world. Everyone we met in Iceland was so friendly and wonderful to deal with; we really couldn’t have asked for a better trip.
What other places should AbbyShot visit in the future? Any tips, leads, or hints are always welcome!
We have made a small change that is a big bonus to the Enigma trench design. We have figured out a way to place the outside pockets in a more screen accurate position, while still maintaining an interior pocket size that is useful to the wearer. Check out the picture and you'll see that this is a definite improvement! You have recent Enigma customer, Arami to thank for this! Thanks Arami!
This design change was created only a little while ago and since then all Enigma and Enigma Custom orders have been made using this improved pocket placement. Any orders placed now will benefit from this change. This is a design refinement that Kingdom Hearts fans have been hoping for and we're glad to be able to offer it. The best part of this change is that it costs you nothing! You're getting an improved, more screen accurate Enigma trench for the same price as before! Order now to see how much better the Enigma is!
Opportunities For AbbyShot Just Over Horizon!
The land of anime and video games is very appealing to us here at AbbyShot. Without amazing inspirations like Trigun and Kingdom Hearts, we would not be the company we are today. We recently attended an information session in Montreal about the Japanese Apparel Market, and learned many things about how we can better serve our Japanese customers.
We were lucky enough to get a personal meeting with Tamotsu Yamachi, one of the organizers of the International Fashion Fair in Tokyo, and he got quite a surprise when he saw our red Vash the Stampede coat! He tried on our Lobby Reloaded Wool and the translator on hand didn’t need to tell us how excited he was! He told us about Akihabara, the Electronics section of Tokyo, which has become the hub of Cosplay in Japan. He raved about stores such as Mandarake, one of the largest Manga and Anime Chains in the world. We certainly took in a lot of information in one exciting day!
Do you think AbbyShot would do well in the wonderful country of Japan? Do you have any cool Japanese experiences to share with us? Please let us know!
Good news for people who are still looking for that special Christmas gift! You can still order from AbbyShot. We've had some very productive weeks recently and are able to maximize some additional production capacity. Basically, this translates into a great advantage for you. For the next week you can place your order and have a very good likelihood of receiving your order in time for Christmas! We of course can't control the speed of shipping from us to you, but we can produce the garment for you. This is a quickly closing window of opportunity though, once we're full again, we'll be pushing delivery dates to after Christmas, so act quickly!
New Pleather - looks like leather!
You now have access to the best pleather that we've ever had. It looks and feels so much like real leather that even with a close comparison with both fabrics together it is still very difficult to tell which is pleather and which is genuine leather. We're truly impressed with this fabric and it has become our new standard to use for all our pleather garments. Check out the comparison picture to see just how incredibly similar they are, even up close! Can you tell which is which? Send us your guesses!
New Browncoat Suede
Our suede supplier has really outdone themselves. The latest shipment of Browncoat suede came in a little while ago and it is absolutely fantastic! This latest batch is noticeably thicker and has a much richer tone to it, making it even more screen accurate than ever. We've already sewn up some Browncoats in the new suede and it is very appealing! Check out the picture to see for yourself! The heavier weight really adds to the look of the finished garment and the darker colour is just perfect! What can we say? If you've been wondering when you should buy an AbbyShot Browncoat, then this is the perfect time!
Black RDF is here!
A new look fabric with a lot of style!
Last issue we announced the debut of red RDF fabric. At that time we said that we would be bringing in a black RDF soon. Well, here it is! We've sewn some garments in it and we must say that this is a very impressive fabric. RDF has the graceful and buoyant hang of the discontinued Silk~Wind fabric of a couple of years ago, but has a lustre all it's own and a slightly more substantial heft or weight to it that is closer to the Stretch Twill. Lastly, as we said in October, RDF is also resistant to rain and snow in a manner similar to how Commander was. This is a great new fabric and is now available for select designs in black!
New hoodie designs?
The Kingdom Hoodie has been a fantastic success and continues to sell well. Customers have been asking us for more hoodie designs, so now is your chance to speak up. What do you think would make a great new style of hoodie?
It can be a new design entirely, or a hoodie version of a non-hoodie garment. Don't limit yourself to existing AbbyShot products either, the sky's the limit, so send in your ideas!
AbbyShot Embraces Change
We've been paying attention to the AbbyShot forum, and we've come to the sad conclusion that it is no longer the great tool for providing customer service that it once was. There was a time when the forum was the centre of activity for excitement over new products, the place to post questions and rave reviews. This hasn't been the case for a number of months now, and it's time that we admit it. So, rather than wallow in sad remembrances, we're going to move on. Since the forum isn't achieving what it once did, we're going to be replacing it with some things that will. This will no doubt come as a great shock to the small core of regulars who frequent it almost daily, and to those few faithful forumgoers we are sorry that this day has come.
So, if the forum is leaving, the two big questions are: When will this happen? and what will replace it? To be fair to the people who DO still post there, we are giving everyone fair warning. We're not shutting down the forum until the new year. This gives everyone until January to conclude existing threads and prepare for the forum closure. In the meanwhile, we will be introducing several new features to our web site that will hopefully bring back the desired advantages that our forum once gave everyone.
The first thing that people can see is our newly released AbbyShot blog that is linked on our main page. The AbbyShot blog will regularly feature focused posts and everyone will have the opportunity to comment on them. We are also going to be redesigning our product pages to more easily allow people to request specific assistance and information, thereby further refining our ability to help you in your buying decisions. You're also going to be seeing AbbyShot in more places online. Over time we will be forming strategic alliances with other web sites and online services. Of course, our newsletter will still be here and we are looking into ways to improve it too. As with everything in AbbyShot, we welcome your comments and suggestions on ways to improve and to better serve you, so don't hesitate to contact us!
