Sneak Attack Of The Holiday Season!
Apparently someone dropped Christmas on top of us when we weren't looking. One minute it was Halloween and the next minute Christmas was only a few days away! "Lost: One Fall Season. Last seen as a vague blur in the background as we focused on creating new garments." :-). 2005 has been an extremely busy year for us, filled with exciting challenges and new achievements. We've done so much in 2005 that we've scarcely had time to draw breath! :-) Check out the grey sidebar to the right for a brief recap of this years milestones to see what we mean!

Wow!! That's a big list! We've have a record-breaking nine new products released in 2005 and a further seven improvements or expansions to our products!! Whoo Hoo! That's almost like two or three years rolled into one!
What will 2006 bring? Obviously, new products... Will we beat our 2005 record for new products? Either way, we expect to see a lot of great things throughout 2006. We've been steadily improving things here at AbbyShot which can only result in wins for everyone. We'd like to thank our customers for being there with us throughout the whole year. It obviously wouldn't have worked without you! You're our reason for being here and we don't want to ever forget that! Thank you for 2005 and we look forward to working with you in 2006!
Our production staff will be on a much-deserved Christmas break between December 24th and January 4th. We'd like to thank our staff and some of the people who helped us achieve our goals in AbbyShot. We're improving our garments again
We've taken a new look at how our inside chest pockets are made and decided to give them a more "haute couture" appearance. We've come up with a welt design that creates a classier, more tailored look to the inside pockets than our previous "patch-style" pockets. This new pocket design is completely enclosed within the lining and produces a much cleaner profile for the inside of the coat. We're also offering zippered closures as an additional option for our inside chest pockets as well. We're currently phasing out our old patch pockets as we complete existing orders and all new orders will be featuring this new design.
This One's Coming In Fast!
The Rocketeer Jacket, with black pleather as the sampling fabric.
This is a jacket that we've been keeping a tight lid on until quite recently. We know that there are a lot of people who really want to see this design become a reality. So until we were 100% certain that it was going to become a future AbbyShot product and soon, we didn't want to unduely raise any hopes.
The leather for the AbbyShot Rocketeer Jacket
Of course the good news is that we ARE going to be making this garment! As you can see, the prototype is very screen-accurate and already that version of the pattern has been adjusted to further refine it for both accuracy and ease of construction. We have the new Sienna Sand Leather that will be used for it, although it will be available in Black Soft Touch Leather as well for those who simply like the design itself and don't want brown. The lining is a quilted lining that matches the look of the movie version. The buttons have been specially commissioned for AbbyShot to recreate their unique look. Every effort has been taken to ensure that this newest product will conform to our obsessively high standards of quality and screen accuracy.
We don't have a specific release date or pricing available just yet, but we expect that this product will be released very early in the new year. As we have more details we will be announcing them in our newsletter and on the new Rocketeer Jacket Coming Soon Page. Our next step is to make another prototype in the production leather and sign off on the design prior to having a photoshoot and releasing this as a new product! Many Rocketeer fans have been contacting us for details, plus this design is already generating excitement with bikers as a motorcycle jacket. Zoe in Serenity
Crichton from Farscape
The first design this month is worn by Zoe in the movie Serenity. This item is different from what she wore in the series "Firefly". This time, she's wearing a two-piece leather vest with an offset zippered front and a separate long-sleeved shrug leather with decorative grommets. It is a bit complicated, but also very good looking. Should AbbyShot make this? Tell us what you think!
The Farscape character John Crichton wears a vest and trench combo that has gotten a lot of attention, even several years after the series has ended. The vest is a burgandy leather or pleather with a row of black plastic clip closures. The 3/4 length trench with similar snap closures is mostly black fabric (wool?) with black leather sleeves, shoulders, and chest. The vest has a short collar that projects up past the collarless trench. The two items are obviously meant to be worn together, and were we to make this we would offer them both. AbbyShot can develop this... should we? Tell us what you think!
What? Not yet? Bah Humbug!
Hello to all the Malice Mizer fans out there! We haven't forgotten you or the Malice Mizer.
What can I say... It's not under the "AbbyShot tree" yet. Stay tuned, it IS coming.
A New View For An Excellent Product!
The Leather Cleric Custom is an phenomenal garment! It looks so extraordinary that it's difficult to talk about it without babbling. There's just something about the fit, the lines, all those meticulously joined panels that creates a look that just takes your breath away. It looks great in the screen-accurate Stormgrid, but the leather version takes this design to an all new level!
The other day, Squid Squires dropped by the AbbyShot shop, (an advantage of him being local that we're only too happy to avail of!), ;-) and saw the Leather Cleric Custom. He was made speechless by it! Following up on a hunch that he'd look good in front of the camera, we put the coat on him and shot some pictures. Turns out our hunch was dead on as the photos came out looking absolutely striking!
Don't believe me? Fine, click on picture to the right and take a look at the seven new pictures we've added to the top of the Leather Cleric Custom gallery. Then, tell us what you think! ;-)
We'd love to hear from you! Let us know what you think! See you next issue!
