| Autumn is in the Air at AbbyShot! |
People talk about spring as being a time for rebirth. It's true for with spring there is new growth and buds blooming, but there is also something about the autumn which brings about new beginnings. Perhaps it is getting back into routines after the summer scheduling and the beginning of the school year. This year has seen a lot of changes occur at AbbyShot and it has rejeuvenated us. We are already working toward our most awesome year yet...a year filled with new designs and even more amazing interactions with our customers and fans. The excitement you continually share with us propels us forward, and for that we are most humbly grateful.

| AbbyShot Makes Room! |
In order to grow AbbyShot, we have made some exciting decisions, albeit with some mixed emotions. In order to accomodate all of the new designs we are bringing forth in 2011/2012, we are retiring some of our more classic designs. So, once we have finished our current bolts of fabric, or by December 31st, we will be retiring the following designs: Deckard Trench, Silent Bob's Coat, Foxhound Coat, Stampede Duster (leather one as well), the Pill Jacket and the custom Vereen Jacket. The good news is, all of these products are still available for our Abby-Layaway program.

A New Beginning at AbbyShot!
| |

AbbyShot's Owner, Bonnie Cook watched her beautiful daughter Julia walk down the aisle this summer with her new husband, Dion! Julia is a key person within our company therefore many of us were there to be a part of the event. Julia designed and made her own dress, of course!
Congrats, Julia and Dion from the AbbyShot crew!

AbbyShot Ships to 47 Countries Around the Globe!
| With any international business shipping to 47 countries, logistics becomes a major part of each day. In this day and age where fuel prices and wages are always changing, sometimes shipping can put a major dent in your wallet, which is why AbbyShot has always chosen the most economical & expedient way of shipping. UPS is the quickest and most user-friendly shipper, with an easy tracking feature found at http://www.ups.ca. Tracking helps when dealing with customs on shipments crossing the border as it is frequently updated as your prized new parcel passes through the many touchpoints. On the rare occasion something runs amuck, UPS works with us through their exceptional help line to track down the error and set it right so that your order arrives to you in mint condition.
The one piece of information which customers must remember when importing goods from another country into their own is that there are often customs or duty or taxes which are charged by your government to let that package into the country. Different coats have different customs fees.
Like everything else, shipping becomes a repeated process. We have always found the best possible way to ship our items and our customers have reaped the benefits!

| Who is the Man Inside The Cyberman Head? | Meet Craig! You may notice he has the head of a Cyberman. Well, don't be alarmed. Craig just happens to be a Science Fiction fan...and one of Doctor's Who's greatest fans, we suspect. We have become members of his Doctor Who Facebook Page, we suspect one of the fastest growing on the net. It garnered 1,200,000 page/post views on Saturday alone. We asked Craig about his passion. This is what he shared with us: "I was hooked on Doctor Who from the time I was an infant; my Mum still refers to the fact that I always smiled when the Doctor Who theme song came on. Throughout my childhood the Doctor has always been there, and as I grew into an adult I have continued to follow his adventures throughout my life. I remember the tragedy of the series cancellation well, and the joy at the relaunch in 2005 in which I was able to introduce my own son to the joys of the Doctor."
"Doctor Who is more than a show, it is a family tradition which I am passing onto my own children, and now onto a world full of families through the internet. I never imagined my love would be shared so fully and completely on a worldwide basis, and I am more than thrilled at the community it has become, and the wonderful friends it has brought me."
Craig, thanks so much for sharing your passion with us (and now a Doctor Who Facebook Group)! I know we will be hearing more from you in the future! |

Social Media:
|
Did you realize that AbbyShot has an active social media campaign? We would love to hear from more of you, so please feel free to take part in it. We use social media to keep in touch with our customers and those who are seeking to find out more about us. It's also a great way to hear about wonderful suggestions for products and any feedback you might like to share.
We would love to know more about what sorts of items you would like to read about. Perhaps it is something specific you have in mind, like a particular show or maybe you are thinking more of a genre, such as gaming. We believe in social media because not only can we impart information, but you have also taught us so much over the past nine years, beginning with our forum, continuing with emails and now also Twitter, Facebook and our Blog. We also have a YouTube channel where we share our own videos as well as those which are submitted to us from our fans!
So, come join in on the fun, the discussion and the passion which we all share in a common community! We'd love to hear from you!

| Cool Site of the Month: The Escapist |
We went to our Facebook fans for suggestions for the Cool Site of the Month, and we were given a few differe nt ideas, all of which are excellent and will be featured in various newsletters. For this newsletter we chose the The Escapist Magazine because, well, to put it simply--it made us laugh! At first glance you think this site is only for gamers, but you quickly realize that there are witty movie reviews: Escape to the Movies reviews the movies so you don't have to. Another fun aspect is Unskippable [which] makes fun of bad game cinematics so you don't have to and the hilarious Zero Punctuation, The Escapist's groundbreaking video review series. I think that everyone who works on this site has a degree in speaking quickly, but they are so clear and hilariously funny, hitting the mark spot on with their opinions that you can't help but be enthralled! Yet you don't have to be a fancy writer or fast-talker to be a part of this community as they also have a very active forum...and so very much more! Warning: This is a site you can't just go to for a quick visit. Check out their archives and have yourself a chuckle.....then pick your favourite sections and note when their new reviews come out! You won't be sorry. Thank you, Escapist Magazine. Our smiles are that much wider now!
