In my Opinion, The Granite Gauntlets ROCK!
My Granite Gauntlets arrived in the mail this morning, and I was overjoyed when I saw the name 'AbbyShot' on the package. I will try to review these gauntlets to the best of my abilities, but words honestly don't do these gloves justice.
3 areas of the glove are on review: Look, Feel, and Quality
At first glance, the Granite Gauntlets may seem unassuming, and simplistic. This is good, as many simple things in life are best. However, upon closer inspection, and even upon wearing them, you begin to understand the true nature of these gloves. The elegant lines of the gloves matching perfectly with the contours of your hand. The soft yet rigid padding on the back of the gauntlet lending a sort of armored feel to it, making your hands feel safe, and powerful. It also gives the near unavoidable feeling of wanting to punch something really bad. The adjustable velcro straps was indeed a much appreciated addition, as you can have them loose when you're wearing them for fashion reasons, or tight to keep the warmth they generate in. However, my favorite part about the design has to be the flared cuffs. Those are what really give these gloves their gauntlet feel. They are wonderfully crafted, and perfectly shaped, plus have the added function of being able to use the velcro to loosen the cuff, tuck your sleeve from your sweater, or in my case, the Jenova Trench sleeve, into the glove and then tighten it, so that you are completely encased in warm, AbbyShot goodness.
On to the feel of the glove. As with all of AbbyShot's glove lines, the fingers of the glove are form-fitting, so you can do even the most delicate of tasks with these gloves on as though it were your own skin. In fact, I'm wearing the Granite Gauntlets right now as I type this. From the moment you first slip your hand into the glove's soft embrace, you'll notice that at first, it does not seem very warm. In a way, I feel this is to encourage you to wear it for long periods of time, so that you can show off your amazing gauntlets as your hands warm. It's also beneficial for cosplayers, as they will be able to wear them without worrying about their hands sweating so much. With all of the leather and the padding, the glove also feels somewhat thick, as a real gauntlet should. Your hands will feel safe and protected, a quality I have never experienced with any other glove. A feeling of genuine safety is what I feel for my hands whenever I put on these gauntlets, and it is a splendid feeling.
Finally, the quality of the overall craftsmanship. The glove has spectacular quality; every stitch is there to not only compliment the design, but to ensure a long-lasting, quality product. Every glove is a work of art, in and of itself. The seams are robust to take continued punishment, but petite so as to not take away from the overall design of the glove. The seams are even watertight, from what I have experienced. Naturally, this does not mean go wash your car with them on, but you won't need to worry about rain and such while wearing them. The strength of the seams is most evident when someone whose hand is far bigger than mine can wear my gloves, and the seams do not budge. In fact, they work with his large hand and make it look as though it was made for him. The leather quality is also terrific as there are absolutely no blemishes, bruises, cuts scrapes or what have you. The velco is top notch as well, and the black kasha insides are wonderfully silky smooth, pleasant to the touch and warm enough to wear through your coldest winters.
In summary, the AbbyShot Granite Gauntlets look simple yet refined, feel tough yet comforting, and the quality is second to none.
In my opinion, the Granite Gauntlets ROCK!
Best regards,
Aulii K.
